Traveling for passion and as a hobby is greatly on the rise these days. People, particularly the urban youth in India, have more money and time in hand to explore their passions and pursue their hobbies.
There was a time when travel was restricted only to the business classes, or to traders, or people traveling for religious purposes or to pursue further studies or for medical treatments in bigger cities. But now all that has changed. People are traveling more for fun these days than any other reason.
And with higher standard of living and a greater level of disposable income, money is no constraint for these travel enthusiasts. The trends have changed today and people do not hesitate in taking a break from work to fulfill their dreams of traveling. Many even quit their jobs with the sole aim of satisfying their adventure bug.
Youngsters in India are not letting go of any opportunity to travel and explore the world around them. Even if they get a short vacation after their exams, or if they are working, then they use their monthly CL’s to travel to destinations of their choice. Easy availability of cheap flights only helps them live their dreams.
Some stick with their old favorite places to de-stress and unwind; while some like to explore a new place on every visit. Places like Goa, Kerala, Ladakh, Leh, Himachal, Jaipur, Pune and Simla are very popular amongst the youth.
Whether they take a road-trip, traveling by bikes or jeeps or bus; or by rail; or by airlines; that is decided based on the duration of the vacation. If people have more time on hand, they prefer to go on a road trip to the hills; and if time is a constraint, then a quick travel through any of the low cost airlines is what is mostly preferred.
And it is a trend not just with the youth, but also with people in their thirties and forties. Everyone is looking for different ways to get away form the daily stress of work and life. And travel is the best alternative, particularly when cheap flight tickets are easily available
