From luxury to necessities with Indian domestic flights

There was a time when you had to shell out a fortune calling a local number and had to pay Rs 100 to talk for a minute over an important call. This time was the mid 1990’s when owning a mobile phone was a status symbol and a very few could afford it.
The time when most of the middle class people used to travel by train because buying a Delhi to Mumbai air ticket meant spending their whole month’s salary over just an airfare or the time when very few had the privilege of owning a car. If one was on a vacation to London in 1990’s it was considered that the person is very rich but now it has become very normal.
Who imagined that Indian domestic flights would be lesser then a first class compartment train ticket. But as they say, what you don’t expect to happen happens faster. So we did see changes that have transformed our lifestyle forever.
These changes have surely revolved how the average Indian middle class often known as “AAM ADMI” in India lives. Also these changes have contributed to the economy in a major way by creating employment at a large scale. It is estimated that more then 60 million people have been employed by various MNC’s in telecom, aviation and IT sector in the last decade. With such a revolution, the life of an Indian has become simpler and technologically advanced. Also the luxuries have become necessities now from car to travel to airlines. With the power to adapt to technology faster and being budget conscious has really helped the middle class of India today and I hope such transformation continues to happen in future
